Filled with sharp-lined silhouettes and quiet color schemes, Helmut Lang debuted in 1986 as one of fashion’s first minimalist labels. Its striking simplicity helped usher in the understated look of the early ’90s, but was also timeless enough to outlast the decade’s trends.
